Below are my suggestions for the best Privacy and Security settings for Facebook. The main thing is you only need to share your information with “Friends”. You don’t want the bad guys using your information for Social Engineering (Phishing) attacks against you or your family. Check out the first video under “Deep Fake” blog to see examples ouf how the bad guys are using AI.

Click on menu in FB on your phone or computer.

Then Click on Settings & Privacy.

Click on Privacy Checkup

We will now walk through the following 5 sections

Who can see what I share. If you are using FB to advertise your business then you will want everyone to see what you share. For everyone else you should lock this down to only your friends. Threat actors (bad guys) will use what they find in your FB account for many bad things. I will write an article about how the threat actors use your info in a future blog post.

YOU MUST HAVE A STRONG PASSWORD & TWO-FACTOR ENABLED

There are many videos on how to configure two-factor for FB. I recommend using an authenticator app on your phone as it is much more secure than SMS messaging. Both Google and Microsoft Authenticator Apps are free. Here is a link to a video on how to use the Google App with FB.
