I want you all to be aware of a new phishing scam. I got a text this morning, supposedly from the Illinois Tollway Authority about missed tolls. I checked my SunPass account and it showed paid Illinois tolls. So I figured the Illinois Tollway authority hadn’t registered them. Went on my my phone to click the link and tell them the tolls were paid. First, I clicked a captcha box, and then got a big red screen warning about the site! So, I closed the site immediately. I checked with the Illinois Tollway and there is a scam out there. Glad my iPhone warned me. So,…. if you get a text from a 450 area code (which I found out is in Canada) it is definitely a SCAM. Probably targeting phones with Illinois area codes. A few people from Illinois in my village got the texts, too.
